Ben Affleck had a hilarious — and realistic — reaction to his son eyeing a pricey pair of kicks.
As Affleck, 52, and his son Samuel, 13, strolled through a sneaker convention on Monday, March 3, a certain pair of shoes stood out to his little one. The actor — who shares his son with ex Jennifer Garner — had mixed feelings about the accessory.
Samuel’s eyes lit up when he spotted the Dior Air Force 1 shoe, which retails for $6,000 to $8,000, but Affleck quickly widened his gaze and reminded his son, “That’s a lot of lawns you gotta’ mow there!” He added, “You like those ‘cause they’re expensive.”
Samuel however defended his expensive taste: “No, they’re tough! I always said they look good.”
As Affleck window shopped for sneakers, he wore a pair of the limited-edition Parra x Nike SB Dunk Low “Friends & Family,” which currently retail for up to $4,800. The kicks add a pop of color to any fit, with shades of teal, blue, red, orange and pink splattered across the design.

Affleck was then asked in a Got Sole interview what his all-time favorite pair of sneakers were, but he admitted he couldn’t pick “just one. “He loves the [Nike] De La Soul Sb’s,” Samuel chimed in, to which Affleck agreed.
The sneakers feature a brown tongue and tip, a lime-green Nike swoosh, terracotta stitching, and neon graphics on the sides. In March 2024, Affleck was seen wearing them while out and about in Los Angeles.
He leaned into the multicolored vibes of his sneakers with his wardrobe, wearing a deep red corduroy jacket complete with a white fuzzy collar, an army green button-up and a purple undershirt. Talk about a menswear fashion flex.
