Hannah Brown Talks New Book, Wedding Prep With Adam Woolard

With a book release, a new Bachelor in Paradise role and a wedding, Hannah Brown has a busy few months ahead of her.

“I’ve had a lot going on. It’s been fun and then there’s moments it can be really stressful,” Brown, 30, admitted to Us Weekly while promoting her upcoming novel, The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain, out Tuesday, June 24.

Apart from her major professional milestones, Brown told Us that she’s the most “excited” for the “next chapter” in her relationship with Adam Woolard, who proposed in 2023.

“There’s been a lot of planning and so much in the pipeline with my book coming out one month before my wedding and now going to Costa Rica for a while to shoot Bachelor in Paradise. We’re just so excited to be able to be truly together and go into this next chapter and start building our home together,” Brown continued. “We’re really looking forward to being able to celebrate with everyone and [use] all the work that we’ve both been doing to become the best versions of ourselves and really create a really strong relationship and marriage.”

But before she walks down the aisle, Brown has to tell the fictional story of Sybill Rain’s failed marriage. The character was introduced in Brown’s debut novel, Mistakes We Never Made (released in May 2024), as a girl who ran out on her wedding. Now, readers will find out what really happened.

“There’s some true depth in why she had to leave. She was scared. It was important to have depth in this character, to have empathy for those messier parts of herself. It’s going to be a really relatable experience for a lot of women,” Brown teased. “It’s not until you have a clearpicture of the whole story that you can [empathize]. That’s why I love a redemption story, a second-chance romance — [and] that’s what this book is.”

Hannah Brown is taking her new Bachelor in Paradise role very seriously. “I think of myself as Paradise Relations,” Hannah, 30, told Us Weekly exclusively while promoting her upcoming novel, The Four Engagement Rings of Sybil Rain (out Tuesday, June 24). “I am there to make sure that whatever people need, whatever the experience that […]

Admittedly, there was more pressure for Brown when it came to writing her second novel.

“I felt like I had something to live up to, which was scarier. I have a coauthor, Emily Larrabee, who couldn’t resonate with Sybil, so it was my responsibility to get her right,” she explained. “I had to work for it, and it stretched me in some really beautiful ways. I’m really, really proud of this book.”

And for all those looking for the perfect summer read, Brown told Us what makes this book her first pick.

“Think Forgetting Sarah Marshall vibes, being on a vacation in Hawaii with your ex,” she said. “Instead, for Sybil, it’s two exes on a beach and just chaos.”
