Sorry to burst fans’ bubbles, but Ben Affleck and ex-wife Jennifer Garner are not rekindling their romance, multiple sources exclusively tell Us Weekly.
“Their relationship has evolved into a strong friendship,” an insider reveals in the latest issue of Us Weekly, on newsstands now. “Jen is a grounding and trusting force in Ben’s life.”
The source notes that Affleck and Garner, both 52, are not reconciling after their 2015 split, but their friendship has blossomed since Affleck’s divorce from Jennifer Lopez.
“Their bond is the strongest that it’s ever been,” the insider adds of Affleck and Garner, who were married 10 years before parting ways. (The pair finalized their divorce in 2018.)

Affleck and Garner sparked romance rumors earlier this month when they were spotted looking cozy while celebrating their son Samuel’s 13th birthday during a paintball outing. The exes were photographed on March 4 walking side by side with big grins on their faces while decked out in paintball gear.
Despite appearances to the contrary, the source tells Us that the Argo director and Garner have simply upped their time together to enrich their children’s lives. (Affleck and Garner also share Violet, 19, and Seraphina, 16.)

“Ben’s actually been spending more time with Jen since his divorce from Jennifer [Lopez] because he’s been prioritizing his kids,” the insider explains, noting, “It’s easier to spend time with them with Jen.”
While Affleck’s split from Lopez, 55, in 2024 was “hard” on him, the source says it’s been getting “easier” with time.
The Oscar winner was married to Lopez for two years. The pair, who were previously engaged in the early 2000s, rekindled their romance in May 2021. They got engaged in April 2022 and tied the knot in Las Vegas that July.
Affleck and Lopez sparked split speculation in spring 2024 before Lopez filed for divorce that August. They finalized their divorce in January.

“Ben’s in a good place,” the source tells Us. “He’s in a better mental and emotional space than he has been in years.”
Garner, meanwhile, is still happily dating John Miller, whom she reconnected with in 2021 after a brief split.
“Everything is fine with John and Jen,” a separate source exclusively told Us last month, claiming that the entrepreneur, 47, was unbothered by Garner’s bond with Affleck. “Those close to them haven’t heard of any issues.”
