Deadline reports Sydney Sweeney will star in a new film adaptation of The Masque of the Red Death from A24 and writer/director, Charlie Polinger.
Trash’s Revenge
According to Bloody-Disgusting, the late Return of the Living Dead actors James Karen and Don Calfa will appear in Linnea Quigley’s meta-sequel, Trash’s Revenge, “with the magic of CGI.”
James Gunn’s DCU
In response to a fan on Threads (via Screen Rant), James Gunn confirmed he’s now “pre-writing” his next DCU project after Superman and Peacemaker season two.
Stagtown
Variety reports a film adaptation of the horror webtoon Stagtown is now in development at LuckyChap and Wattpad Webtoon Studios, Inc. with Benjamin Brewer (Arcadian) attached to direct. The story follows Frankie, Jeremy, and Felix “as they discover something is terribly wrong in the town of Stagtown and attempt to escape the horrors that the residents spend every day ignoring.”
Star Trek: Section 31
During a recent interview with TV Line, director Olatunde Osunsanmi stated he “worked hard” to uphold Star Trek‘s “ideals” and “optimism” in Section 31.
What we can say is we worked really hard to make sure we kept up the ideals of optimism and ‘What do we want our society to be in the future?’ In the end, Section 31 is good, it’s fun, and it’s a joy. Hopefully, they’re pleasantly surprised.

Untitled Vampire Comedy
Deadline reports The Vampire Diaries‘ Paul Wesley is attached to produce a pilot for a currently untitled vampire comedy at Fox concerning “a determined 25-year-old vampire who struggles with running the family business for his murderous and suffocating vampire parents while trying to chase his dream to become an actor.” Wesley co-wrote the pilot with Unstable‘s Victor Fresco. Liz Friedlander (The Rookie) is attached to direct.
