Jason Kelce is quickly learning the ropes of late-night television — especially when it comes to his grooming habits.

In a video posted via Kelce’s YouTube channel on Tuesday, December 10, the former NFL star gave a behind-the-scenes look at his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last month.

When Kelce, 37, sat down in the hair and makeup chair before his chat with Kimmel, 57, the “New Heights” cohost couldn’t help but joke about his bushy appearance.

“Nose hairs are in,” he told Cindy Miguens, Jimmy Kimmel Live!’s head makeup artist.

Jason Kelce may be retired from the NFL, but he’s as busy as ever. The former center for the Philadelphia Eagles is getting ready to host a late night show on ESPN, aptly titled They Call it Late Night with Jason Kelce. Though this will be his first foray into late night, Kelce, 37, has […]

Miguens wasn’t buying the trend, though, and started getting to work with a nose trimmer.

“That’s going to help me so much,” Kelce said delightedly after she was finished. “Thank you so much for that. It constantly is tickling me.”

As for makeup, Kelce asked her to go “really light,” so Miguens used a tinted moisturizer on his face.

Kelce was thrilled with the results, saying, “I just looked at myself in the mirror and I don’t think I’ve looked this good in a long time, so thank you.”

“Oh, you’re welcome. You’re so sweet,” Miguens responded.

However, it didn’t take long for Kelce to undo the makeover — all thanks to a nasty intruder in Kelce’s nasal cavity.

“You know when you got a hard booger and it’s just sticking you?” Kelce asked comedian Jon Glaser backstage at the show. “But it’s not enough that I think I can get this out.”

Glaser, 56, theorized that the nose trimmer might have made the problem worse.

“That’s what I’m wondering,” Jason said.

So, with no other option in sight, Kelce took to the studio bathroom to violently blow his nose.

“Oh, yeah, that’s the ticket,” Kelce said after extracting the booger.

The relief was short-lived, though, when Kelce looked into the bathroom mirror. “Oh, man, I just kind of wrecked all of Cindy’s mustache work,” he said.

In addition to appearing as a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Kelce wanted to pick the brain of the show’s longtime host for tips about his upcoming foray into the television arena, They Call It Late Night With Jason Kelce, which premieres on ESPN in January.

“It’s kind of like a newspaper,” Kimmel, 57, told Kelce about hosting a late-night show. “You got a certain amount of space and you have to fill it. You gotta figure out which of the things are worth it. Sometimes for us, and I think you’ll probably have [this] a little bit too, it changes really close to showtime.”

Kelce asked Kimmel for his advice on what he should wear on his show, which will film at Philadelphia’s Union Transfer.

“I don’t think you should wear a suit unless you want to make a goof out of it or something like that,” Kimmel told him. “I think people are interested in the stupid decisions you have to make.”

They Call It Late Night With Jason Kelce premieres Saturday, January 4, at 1 a.m. ET on ESPN and will run for five consecutive weeks.
