Jason Kelce joked about how the scent of Stevie Nicks will hit you like a landslide.
The former Philadelphia Eagles star, 37, and Nicks, 76, sang a cover of Ron Sexsmith’s “Maybe This Christmas” for the charity album A Philly Special Christmas Party, which was released November 22.
Kelce discussed the out-of-body experience of working with the Fleetwood Mac legend during a Thursday, December 12 appearance on Philadelphia’s WIP Morning Show.
“There’s like an aura about people when they enter a room that are of that stature,” Kelce explained. “It’s so weird.”
He added, “There’s just something about them. It’s so unique and special. The moment they come in, it enlightens a room.”
Specifically, WIP Morning Show cohost Jon Ritchie wondered if Nicks managed to be a feast for all the senses.
“Did she have a smell?” Ritchie, 50, asked Kelce.
A big smile crossed Kelce’s face as the memory of the recording session washed over him.
“I wanna say yes, I wanna say yes!” Kelce answered enthusiastically. “But if you asked me to pick the scent out, probably no. I couldn’t be able to tell it. But I feel like it’s everything. There’s a new smell in the room. The lighting changes.”
Kelce gushed about the experience of working with Nicks on the album, which donates all proceeds to local Philadelphia charities including the Children’s Crisis Treatment Center’s Holiday Toy Drive and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s Snowflake Station.
“It was surreal,” Kelce said on the show. “We have video of it. I think it captured it pretty well. I didn’t feel at all that I was deserving or qualified to be singing in her presence.”
He added, “She was completely lovely. I could have spent all day with her. Absolutely incredible.”
Kelce first teased the collaboration with Nicks in October via the official X page for his and brother Travis Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast.
“The crossover we didn’t know we needed,” Jason captioned a photo of himself dressed in a Christmas sweater while hugging Nicks. “Coming soon to a Christmas album near you 👀🎄.”
The charity album also features appearances from Jason’s wife, Kylie Kelce, Mt. Joy, Immanuel Wilkins and a collaboration between Travis, 35, and Boyz II Men.
Travis and Boyz II Men’s song, “It’s Christmas Time (In Cleveland Heights),” was released on November 1 and features the Kansas City Chiefs star — and Cleveland Heights, Ohio native — showing off his vocal chops.
