Some Jeopardy! fans are voicing their disappointment that the game show chose to highlight Kanye West in a clue.
During the Thursday, March 20, episode, contestant Alex DeFrank chose the $1,200 clue in the Double Jeopardy category titled “The Song of Roland Drum Machines.”
Host Ken Jennings proceeded to read the clue that stated, “The title of his album, 808s and Heartbreak, refers to the death of his mother, Donda, and to the Roland TR-808 used on the songs.”
“Who is Kanye West?” DeFrank correctly buzzed in, bringing his total to $5,600.
While the contestant was simply answering the question, some viewers were outraged that the show chose to highlight a rapper who has made headlines for his antisemitic comments.
“That’s the fourth Kanye clue this year,” one user wrote via Reddit. “Make it stop.”
Another viewer wrote, “That Kanye question needed a note saying the clue was recorded before he declared himself a literal N*zi.”
In February, West, 47, made headlines when he posted several offensive comments via X. Many of the rapper’s posts centered on the Jewish community, the most severe of which said, “I love Hitler” and “I’m a Nazi.” His X account was later briefly deactivated following the antisemitic comments.

When discussing the Jeopardy! episode on Reddit, one fan questioned when the series tapes by writing, “Makes me wonder how far ahead of time they write the clues.”
Another defended the game show for including the rapper by explaining, “I don’t see the issue with including him in clues. There are tons of bad people in clues.”
Us Weekly has reached out to Jeopardy! for comment.
Since West made his antisemitic remarks on social media, the rapper has been dropped by his talent agency.
“Effective immediately, I’m no longer representing YE (F/K/A Kanye West) due to his harmful and hateful remarks that myself nor 33 & West can stand for,” Daniel McCartney wrote via his Instagram Story on February 10. “Peace and love to all.”
Other stars have also publicly responded to West’s controversial tweets, with David Schwimmer demanding Elon Musk remove him from X.
“I don’t know what’s worse, the fact that he identifies as a Nazi (which implies he wants to exterminate ALL marginalized communities including his own) or the fact that there is not sufficient OUTRAGE to remove and ban him from all social media at this point,” the actor wrote via Instagram on February 8. “Silence is complicity.”
