Joan and Chock Decorate Tree With Golden Bachelorette Ornament

Former Golden Bachelorette Joan Vassos and her fiancé, Chock Chapple, are ringing in the holidays by each other’s side.

The pair shared a series of sweet images decorating a Christmas tree, including a close-up of an ornament that paid homage to where they met. The circular wooden ornament read “The Golden Bachelorette” and featured a dress and a tux. “Engaged 2024,” was written below.

Joan and Chock, both 61, also showed off a display of over a dozen stockings, which had the names of their respective children and her grandchildren written in cursive on the front. (Joan shared her four kids with late husband John, while Chock is dad to two kids he shares with ex-wife Heather.)

“Our first golden Christmas… ✨🎄,” they captioned their joint Instagram post on Saturday, November 30. “Special thank you to my friend @kateslaytonlettering for this beautiful custom ornament! 🎁 #newtraditions #thegoldenbachelorette.”

Fellow Bachelor Nation members were quick to share their love for the couple in the comments section of the post. “This makes me smile 😃,” host Jesse Palmer wrote, while The Bachelorette season 21 alum Jonathon Johnson added, “If I buy my own stocking can we toss it up there too? 🥹😂.”

After getting engaged during The Golden Bachelorette season 1 last month, Joan and Chock exclusively told Us Weekly that they planned to find an apartment in New York City together.

Joan and Chock are ready to party — and then take NYC! After getting engaged on the Wednesday, November 13, episode of The Golden Bachelorette, Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple are set to celebrate their relationship with a big engagement party in Los Angeles before heading to the East Coast. “It’s gonna be bigger than […]

“This first year, obviously, we have to kind of figure out life. Chock has a business in Kansas. I have kids and grandkids and Maryland. I’m not leaving Maryland, but he does have obligations in Kansas,” Joan told Us. “We know that we’re gonna spend time in Maryland and in Kansas, but then we have this really fun plan because both of us have always dreamed — and we’re finally at this weird stage in life for making this dream come true — that we live in a big city, and, specifically, we’ve always wanted to live in New York. So Chock surprised me and said, ‘I want us to go find a place.’”

As the couple plans to spend time in the Big Apple, Joan told Us that she “never in a million years” thought she would feel “love like this again.”

“Living life in your golden years is special. You’re not responsible for raising a family anymore or for a business. You get to really enjoy life. Travel is important to us. One day buying a home together,” she shared in an Us cover story. “After John passed away, I
felt like my future was this black hole. And now it just looks so bright. The possibilities are endless for us. Which is a weird thing to say at this age, but I do feel that way.”
