Joan Vassos and Chock Chapple are living their best lives on the road — with no set plans to tie the knot.
“We certainly talk about the wedding and we’re gonna get married, but we’re not like the young people. We don’t have a biological clock. We’re not trying to establish our lives someplace together,” Vassos, 62, exclusively told Us Weekly while promoting her partnership with Aspercreme.
The Golden Bachelorette star — who got engaged to Chapple, 61, on the season 1 finale in November 2024 — said that the twosome are “kind of in flux right now,” but that it works for them.
“We’re not together every single night. We’re still solid, we’re good. We don’t have to do that,” she continued. “And I certainly want to marry this man. He is the person I wanna spend the rest of my life with. But the thought of planning a wedding right now sounds exhausting. And we have been so busy anyway and I don’t see an end anytime really soon and I don’t necessarily want an end to this. This is such an experience and it’s so rare for somebody our age to get these opportunities that I’m just gonna keep doing this until they stop asking. Planning a wedding seems like it would halt things and I’d have to concentrate on that and I don’t really wanna do that yet.”
She assured the concerned parties among Us that “the wedding will come,” adding, “It’ll happen when it’s right, when I have time to plan it — and when I feel like planning it, I’m really excited about it right now. I’m excited about other things that we’re doing.”
Vassos said that the twosome try not to go more than 10-14 days without seeing each other.
“At that point we’re like, ‘OK, this has been too long. We need to figure out how to get together’. So we’re really very good about figuring our schedules out beforehand,” she explained.

Vassos confirmed that the pair have several trips planned through the spring — some for work and some for fun.
“He’s come to Maryland, I’ve been to Wichita, we’ve kind of settled into how we are in each other’s homes. But our more ‘normal’ is not being in each other’s homes. It’s being someplace else in New York or L.A.,” Vassos said, noting that the twosome will be in Cancun in early February. “We have a trip planned in the early fall to Paris. We will probably do another tropical vacation. We’re gonna be in Philly in a couple weeks for Valentine’s Day. We’re just going from hotel to hotel!”
While acknowledging that travel can be a source of stress for some couples, it’s “the opposite” for Vassos and Chapple.
“We get energized by this,” she said of their global exploits. “It’s rare at this time in your life, at this age, that you get the opportunities that we’ve been given. You usually slow down, you’re moving into a more sedentary or a less active part of your life. It’s been the total opposite for us. Our life has been completely shaken up. I am never home more than five days at a time now. I am always out. We have such great opportunities. We do appearances. We are on podcasts together, we’re traveling. It’s very different from what I expected. And when we travel together, it’s for something really fun.”
One of Vassos’ latest ventures is a collab with Aspercreme.
“At this age, when you’re doing all these things, sometimes it comes at a little bit of a cost. And so that’s why I feel like this partnership is perfect. I am actually the most active and Aspercreme is all about empowering people to keep doing what makes them happy,” Vassos said, adding that there’s several products that she loves. “They have a roll-on applicator that has lidocaine in it. And I will give [my grandkids] piggyback rides and it always hurts my right elbow. I get home and I’m like, ‘Oh, the elbow’s aching. I don’t feel so great.’ And I discovered this applicator and I just roll it on and it eliminates the pain immediately and it’s so good. I can use it anytime, anywhere and it doesn’t smell.”
