Christine Baumgartner is engaged to boyfriend Josh Connor nearly one year after finalizing her divorce from Kevin Costner.
People reported that the couple got engaged on Sunday, January 26, during a romantic date night in Santa Barbara, California. Connor, 49, got down on one knee while the pair were on the beach, which was secluded due to the rainy weather, per the outlet.

Baumgartner, 50, and the financier were first linked after she filed for divorce from Costner, 70, in May 2023 after nearly two decades of marriage. She cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.

Baumgartner and Connor — who is a friend of Costner’s — were first spotted out together during a July 2023 trip to Hawaii. One month after the getaway, Baumgartner testified during her and Costner’s divorce proceedings that she and Connor were just friends. While in court, Costner questioned whether Baumgartner was faithful after she requested documents relating to his finances.
“Respondent has no responsive documents for ‘extramarital romantic relationships’ in which he engaged because he engaged in none,” read court documents obtained by Us in August 2023. Costner’s attorneys also noted that the actor “does not know for a fact if [Christine] engaged in any ‘extramarital romantic relationships’ before separation and, if so, whether she spent any of his money or charged any expenses in furtherance of her affair(s) on credit cards he paid.”

Despite claiming they only had a friendship, multiple outlets confirmed that Baumgartner and Connor were dating in January 2024. The pair seemingly went public with their relationship after Baumgartner was photographed dropping off Connor at his home.
After news broke of Baumgartner and Connor’s new relationship status, a source told Us that Costner had a feeling something romantic was brewing between the twosome.

While Costner believed Baumgartner and Connor were close before the exes’ split, the insider told Us that Baumgartner insisted her and Connor’s relationship only turned romantic “relatively recently.” The insider added that the businessman had been by Baumgartner’s side as she navigated the tumultuous split from the actor.
“Christine doesn’t think Kevin has anything to complain about,” the source explained. “Josh has been Christine’s rock throughout the divorce ordeal. If Kevin has a problem with that, that’s on him.”
Baumgartner and Costner, who share sons Cayden, 17, and Hayes, 15, and daughter Grace, 14, entered a lengthy and messy legal battle over their divorce. The exes argued over assets and child support. After a lengthy back and forth in court, Baumgartner and Costner settled their divorce in September 2023 and finalized the proceedings in February 2024.
