Ariana Biermann is giving Us an update on her parents Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann’s “really long” divorce battle.
“My mom is great. She just moved into a new house and she’s doing great,” Ariana, 23, exclusively told Us Weekly at Us + Maidenform’s Reality Star Style Awards party on Tuesday, April 22, at The Highlight Room in New York City, adding that she’s “very protective” of her mother.
Ariana is one of the children of Zolciak, 46, and Kroy, 39, along with Brielle, 28, KJ, 13, Kash, 12, and twins Kaia and Kane, both 11. Kroy — who adopted Zolciak’s eldest daughters from a previous relationship — and Zolciak initially filed for divorce in May 2023. While they dismissed the petition the following July, Kroy eventually filed a new motion in August 2023.
“I think it gets hard sometimes. It’s been a really long divorce,” Ariana told Us. “[It’s been] two and a half f***ing years, and it’s still not even almost done.”

Ariana further called The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum her “best friend in the world,” saying she wants to see her mom continue to live her best life post-split.

“I hope that she just continues to thrive,” Ariana said. “She’s been with my stepdad for 13 [or] 14 years now, and I’m just excited for her to just be a mom. I tell her, ‘It’s your first time in this world too, so I’ll be your mom sometimes when you need it.’”
According to Ariana, Zolciak has also reentered the dating scene.
“She’s exploring her options, and she should,” the Next Gen NYC star said on Tuesday. “She’s out there and she deserves it. I’m like, ‘Don’t get anything serious yet.’ I also tell her we’re in a totally different world than we once were [and] these people are f***ing crazy.”
Ariana recently left her family’s Atlanta hometown for a new life in New York City, which will be chronicled on Bravo’s upcoming series Next Gen NYC.

“I feel like it’s going to be really exciting to see kind of all of us come into our own as adults. When our moms were on Housewives, we were kids,” Ariana said, referring to costars Gia Giudice and Riley Burruss, who joined her on the red carpet on Tuesday. “A lot of the time, people still think I’m 12 years old. They’re like, ‘Why are you wearing a bikini? I’m like, ‘Girl, I’m 23, OK? I’m actually grown up now.’ I feel like it’s going to be a lot of fun to see all of our friendships blossom and see us navigate New York. At least for me, I’m new here.”

While Ariana already knew Gia, 24, and Riley, 22, because their moms — Teresa Giudice and Kandi Burruss, respectively — have been staples in the Housewives universe, she also forged new connections after moving to the Big Apple.
“I loved [costar Emira D’Spain],” Ariana added. “I was like, ‘You’re coming with me.’ She’s like, ‘We’re doing this.’ She called me, ‘You’re moving to New York City. We’re doing this. You’re doing this show with me.’ I’m like, ‘New York’s my dream, and I was like, we’re doing it.’”
