Kristin Chenoweth knows just how to surprise Ariana Grande.
Chenoweth, 56, who played Glinda in the Broadway version of Wicked, took to Instagram on Monday, December 2, to share pics of her gifting Grande, 31, a pink denim jacket after she played the Good Witch in Wicked: Part One.
The bubblegum jacket featured puffy sleeves and a back painted by Janan Shihadeh. The painting boasted bubbles outlined in gems by Haus of Crystals, a bedazzled rainbow and two Glindas in pastel dresses walking down the iconic yellow brick road.
In the snap, Chenoweth kissed Grande on the cheek as they wore their jackets on the Wicked set. Still glammed up from making her surprise appearance, she donned a dramatic updo and sweatsuit.
“Leading my baby girl down the yellow brick road 🩷,” Chenoweth captioned the post. “I surprised @arianagrande with these jackets on set at @wickedmovie… a little physical memento of our ‘passing of the wand.’ I’ll lead you down any road you let me, Ari. I’m so, so proud of you baby. 🫧.”
Grande sweetly responded in the comments section, “I love you always. “My entire heart 🫧 thank you for your thoughtfulness, generosity and support ♡ my Glinda.” The official Wicked movie account also supported the duo by writing, “Oh, Oz! How splendidly sweet🩷🫧.”
Their wickedly cute jackets aren’t the only special moment Grande and Chenoweth have shared while bonding over Glinda. Last month, they posed together on the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere of Wicked.
At the time, they linked arms and beamed for the photographers. Grande stunned in a pink-and-white gingham Thom Browne frock while Chenoweth sparkled in a gold Pamella Roland minidress.
Chenoweth and Grande go way back to when the Broadway performer took the stage as Glinda, in 2003 until 2004. When Grande was just 10 years old, she met Chenoweth backstage at a Wicked show, where Chenoweth gifted her “a little magical body wash” and “a little wand,” per People.
“I think it was magical because look at where we are now,” she told the publication last month.
