Meryl Streep and Martin Short reunited on the set of Only Murders in the Building.
Short’s costar Selena Gomez took to Instagram on Sunday, April 8, to post a series of throwback photos including working on her beauty brand Rare Beauty and her time on set of the hit Hulu series. One of the snaps featured a group shot with members of the OMTIB cast, crew and Gomez’s fiancé, Benny Blanco.
Gomez, 32, had her arms wrapped around Blanco, 37, as she stood next to Short, 75, and Steve Martin. On the other side of Short was Streep, 75. Short had his arm wrapped around her as they smiled for the camera.
“A few memories… 
,” Gomez captioned the slideshow.
Short has starred in OMITB alongside Gomez and Martin, 79, since its first season, which premiered in 2021. Streep joined the show for season 3 where she portrays Short’s love interest, Loretta Durkin.
“It was one of the great thrills of my life,” Short told The Hollywood Reporter in March 2024 about working with Streep. “In fact, the first day of shooting — which was rare because I’m not brand new — I was driving to work and I thought, ‘I’m nervous today. I’m working with Meryl Streep.’”
Since Streep joined the OMITB cast, she and Short have been spotted together several times. The pair’s multiple outings outside of work have sparked romance speculation. They fueled rumors even further when they were photographed holding hands at OMITB’s season 4 premiere in August 2024. However, the duo have maintained that their relationship is platonic.
“They are just very good friends, nothing more,” a rep for Short shared in a January 2024 statement after he and Streep were spotted sitting next to each other at the Golden Globes.
Short and Streep have continued to be spotted together at events this past year. In February, the twosome attended the Saturday Night Live 50 Homecoming Concert together. The twosome were shown in the crowd as they cheered and danced along to the various performers during the special.

Last month, Short and Streep returned to SNL to watch Lady Gaga host. They did not appear on the sketch series. According to footage obtained by TMZ at the time, Short and Streep arrived together and greeted fans before heading inside 30 Rock.
That same weekend, Streep and Short attended a performance of the Broadway show Oh! Mary. The pair went backstage and posed for photos with the cast. An onlooker exclusively told Us Weekly that “there wasn’t any PDA” between Streep and Short, but they “arrived together” at the show.
“They were laughing together and having a great time,” the insider added.
