Harry Potter star Rupert Grint and his longtime partner, Georgia Groome, are about to send another little one off to Hogwarts (in 10 years)!
“‘Secret Child Slightly Revealed’ Introducing Goldie G. Grint. ⭐️ A 10/10 baby (so far),” Grint, 36, wrote via Instagram on Sunday, April 27, sharing a photo of the newborn wearing a monogrammed onesie. “Shout out to @alex.digesu for always delivering.”
Grint and Groome, 33, have been together since 2011 and previously welcomed daughter Wednesday in 2020. The couple’s first child’s name was, indeed, inspired by the iconic Addams Family character.
“[I’ve] just always loved the name,” Grunt said on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in March 2022, calling the moniker both “strong” and “memorable.”
He added, “We love the idea of an initial like Samuel L. Jackson and Jamie Foxx [have]. Kind of speaking the initial, so she’s Wednesday G. Grint.”
Grint further revealed that Wednesday, then 2, was already aware of his Harry Potter history.
“I’ve already started showing her the trailers,” Grint told host Jimmy Fallon. “She has a wand and a Pez dispenser with my head on it. We don’t feed her Pez, but she has [the dispenser].”
At the time, Grunt also couldn’t stop gushing over the toddler’s milestones.
“She’s kind of talking and doing things because for so long babies just don’t do anything,” he added. “She’s speaking, she’s talking, she’s got opinions. She says ‘Dada.’ She says ‘Mama.’ It was kind of at the same time.”
Grint previously revealed that it was “tough” raising a newborn in the height of the coronavirus pandemic.
“It’s a time when you want as much support as you can get from your family and your friends; it’s a very isolating thing, this lockdown, so we really have kind of been on our own,” he told Glamour in January 2021. “But there’s positives with that. It’s been great to work everything out for ourselves, without so many opinions. We’ve really bonded with Wednesday. It’s been intense, but great.”
In the same interview, Grint praised his famously private relationship with Groome.
“It’s a very natural thing. We’re just best friends,” he told the outlet. “We’re kind of the same person; we think the same way. That’s always made it work – that’s why it’s lasted. It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what it is, but it works and it’s great.”
Groome, like Grint, is also an actor who’s best known for her starring role in 2008’s Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging.
