Sami Sheen hasn’t spoken to dad Charlie Sheen in one year.
Sami, 21, confirmed their lack of communication on Wednesday, April 16, when she posted a TikTok video in which she lip-synced to an interview Charlie, 59, did with ABC’s 20/20 in 2011. At the time, Charlie was asked if there were drugs in his house, and he responded, “If there are, you better find them and give them to me immediately.”
Sami captioned her clip: “When people wonder why I haven’t spoken to my dad in a year but this is my dad.”
Earlier this week, Sami reflected on their rocky relationship in an episode of Gia Giudice’s “Casual Chaos” podcast.

“My whole childhood, I want to say like the first 13 years, my dad was very in and out of my life,” Sami revealed. “It was the worst if we had an event and he said he was going to show up and then we wouldn’t hear from him or he would show up, like, 10 hours late. So we kind of just stopped asking him to come to stuff.”
Sami claimed that when her dad did show up, he was “most likely under the influence of something. … It’s sad but I make humor out of it. I literally cannot tell you one memory from my childhood of him where he’s been sober. Which is kind of sad, but whatever, it’s his choice.”
Sami is the eldest daughter of Charlie and Denise Richards, who were married from 2002 to 2006. The exes are also parents to daughter Lola, 19. (Richards, 54, adopted Eloise, 13, in 2011.)
“My mom hid so much stuff from me,” she said. “Like there was one year, I was, like, asking where my dad was on Christmas. My mom told us he was skiing, but he was actually in jail,” Sami alleged. “I don’t know if he actually went to jail or if he was on his way to jail. Something with him in jail, but I thought he was skiing. And I was like, ‘That’s weird. My dad doesn’t even know how to ski.’ But I was so young. So I really don’t have that many memories of stuff when I was younger. And I think my mom did a really good job of, kind of, hiding stuff.”
In December 2009, when Sami was 6 years old, Charlie was arrested in Colorado for second-degree assault, menacing and criminal mischief in an alleged dispute with then-wife Brooke Mueller. The following year, Charlie pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge and was ordered to spend 30 days in rehab as part of the plea deal. The two other charges were dropped.
Sami alleged that her friends’ parents, fearing Charlie, would not let their kids come over to her house.
“That was pretty hard,” she said. “But it was honestly, it was all I knew. It would have been a lot harder if I went from having a perfect family and then all of a sudden he’s a crazy drug addict and we don’t get to see him. So it kind of helps that it’s all I know, but it still sucks.”
