Southern Hospitality’s Maddi Reese, Joe Talk About Leaving Charleston

Southern Hospitality star Maddi Reese wants to travel the world, but she’s considering staying in Charleston for boyfriend Joe Bradley.

“I went to college [in] Charleston. I have been there for eight years. Sometimes I crave something more,” Maddi exclusively told Us Weekly while promoting season 3 of the Bravo series.

She explained, “That’s why I’m so grateful for my DJ career because it affords me [the ability] to travel and to see other cities and be able to go to concerts and go to sporting events and things that Charleston doesn’t have.”

The reality star noted that her boyfriend, on the other hand, is “someone that wants to stay in Charleston [and] be there.”

Maddi noted that it’s been a “real conversation” between the pair and “something that we’re probably going to have to figure out in our relationship today of just long-term where you see yourself kind of thing.”

Maddi’s comments come after Joe confessed during the January 30 episode of Southern Hospitality that her career aspirations made him worry that she will leave him in the dust.

“A little part of me fears she gets so big she outgrows Charleston,” Joe said at the time. “I already feel she feels, like, cabin fever living in this small town. I love it here.”

The VIP server confessed: “At the end of the day I want to be her home base.”

Joe told Maddi at the time, “I can’t be with you at every show” which made him nervous. Maddi, however, was unfazed. “I feel like I’m cool with that,” she replied.

After watching the episode back, Maddi told Us that living in Charleston with Joe between DJ gigs sounds nice.

“I’m so down for my home base to be in Charleston, so that’s where Joe and I are. We see eye to eye in that same way,” she explained. “I’m glad that even if we might not see eye to eye for a minute that we get there.”

Maddi revealed that her desire for more isn’t completely gone. “Ultimately, yeah, he’s not wrong. There is a little bit of [an] itch of me [getting out],” she shared.

“I’m from New York. I am used to being busy and having a lot of things to do,” Maddi said, noting, “Charleston is definitely a more leisurely place to visit.”

Maddi and Joe were friends for years before they started dating in April 2024. The couple exclusively told Us in December 2024 that it all came down to timing — but things are still fresh.

“I really have had feelings for her for years, but we were also best friends,” Joe said at the time. “One day I would wake up and be like, ‘I have a chance with a girl in my dreams’ and the next day I’ll be like, ‘This will never happen.’ And most of our friends told me it would never happen.”

Maddi noted that she “always had feelings” for Joe, but she didn’t know if it was “past a friendship” before they took the plunge last year.

Since then, the pair had a wedding in Las Vegas, which fans will see on screen during season 3 of Southern Hospitality. While they played coy about whether or not the nuptials were legit, Joe told Us in December 2024 that they are “very happy right now.”

Southern Hospitality airs on Bravo Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET.
