Anna Wintour‘s ever-present sunglasses are legendary, but the boots? They’re the hardest-working signature accessory as of late.
While the style set has descended upon Europe for fashion month, Wintour, 75, also has boots on the ground. However, the longtime Vogue editor-in-chief appears to have packed only one pair for the trip.
Famously decisive, Wintour’s unwavering commitment to her Manolo Blahnik snakeskin boot is a lesson in pieces that combine form and fashion. It proves that her style mastery extends from head to toe, quite literally.
While the chief content officer of Condé Nast has been attending every major show from Milan to Paris, this season, the spotlight isn’t just on the runway; it’s on her compelling choice of footwear, which gives chic new meaning to the phrase: “These boots are made for walking.”
Whether at the Vogue office or in the front row, Wintour’s cold-weather uniform is a study in steadfast precision. It typically consists of a tailored coat, a printed dress and now those boots.

Last month, Wintour wore them to Marni’s Fall 2025 show with a custom lime-green dress from the new collection, just as a model wearing a near-identical version walked past her on the runway.

She was later seen en route to Moschino in said boots plus a Prada frock with a daffodil motif and a Thom Browne herringbone coat with flora and fauna embroidery, which had only made its way down the catwalk two weeks prior.

Earlier this month, on March 4, she stepped out in the City of Light for the Christian Dior show wearing the exact same Prada dress, only this time, she paired it with a Fendi double-breasted wool topper with pointed lapels.
A mere 24 hours later while outside The Row, she layered the coat over a Proenza Schouler navy-and-white draped dress with an asymmetrical hem, which she grounded once again with her go-to Manolo Blahnik shoes.

By Thursday, March 6, she headed to the Schiaparelli show wrapped up in a mulberry red coat plucked right off the Erdem Fall 2025 runway. This season, Schiaparelli Creative Director Daniel Roseberry nodded to his Texan roots, making Wintour’s snakeskin boots feel all the more fitting for the occasion.

Chanel kicked off the final day of the Paris collections on Tuesday, March 11, at the Grand Palais. Once more, Wintour, a well-known wardrobe recycler, styled said boots with a tweed skirt suit from the French fashion house’s Fall 2020 collection.

Despite the intricate embellishments on the jacket, not to mention, the multiple Georgian antique necklaces she topped it off with, her statement boots paired seamlessly, thanks to a similar color palette. (Indeed, snakeskin is considered a neutral for Wintour and other fashion insiders.)
So, while the outerwear, dresses and jewels have all varied to reflect the collections she attended, the boots remained constant and speak to a woman who understands the power of timeless style in a world of fleeting trends. As Wintour said herself in a 2019 interview with Reuters: “I think for all of us it means an attention more on craft, on creativity, and less on the idea of clothes that are instantly disposable, things that you will throw away just after one reading.”
This point was underscored in Anna: The Biography by Amy Odell, as the author spoke to several of Wintour’s former assistants during her research before the book’s release in 2022. “She repeats her outfits all the time, so it doesn’t matter if you repeat your outfit,” one past assistant recalled. “And you have to wear heels.”
All the better if they’re snakeskin.
