It’s the crossover of reality TV dreams, but who actually hooked up when the Vanderpump Villa cast met the women of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives?
During the second season of Vanderpump Villa, which premiered Thursday, April 24, several cast members from The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives made an appearance, including Demi Engemann, Jen Affleck, Jessi Ngatikaura, Layla Taylor and Mikayla Matthews.
The trailer hinted at a connection between Demi and staff member Marciano Brunette, but it was another situation that took Us by surprise. Bartender Sam Terry shared a steamy kiss with Layla during a game of truth or dare, which didn’t sit well with Alyssa Johnston.
Sam clarified in a confessional that he wanted to flirt with Layla while still engaging in a situationship with Alyssa. It didn’t work out that way, but that love triangle wasn’t as awkward as Marciano’s unexpected connection with Demi.
As soon as they met, Marciano found himself drawn to Demi “not only physically” but emotionally as well. The only problem? She is happily married to husband Bret Engemann, which she had to remind Marciano on multiple occasions after they spent two days together.
“The deepest and most successful marriages are faced with, ‘Where do we go from here?’ It is all about how you work through on that together,” Demi, who is 16 years younger than Bret, said. “We have gone through so much growth and nothing scares him away. No one has made me think this way about it. This is good for me.”
Demi admitted she “almost divorced” her husband “27 times” due to their age difference. But she was proud of the progress they made. Marciano, meanwhile, was asked by a producer whether there were “mutual feelings” between them, which he couldn’t deny.
“Demi taught me to live with that intent and the right partner is out there,” Marciano told her the next morning before getting emotional once she left. “I knew if I didn’t say goodbye to her, I would regret it.”
In another confessional, Marciano confirmed he definitely planned to remain in contact with Demi. He spoke to Us Weekly about where they stand now, teasing, “You can see that everything was very authentic and very real. If it transitioned into anything after [filming], you’ll just have to wait and see.”
It doesn’t appear that Marciano and Demi are on good terms anymore. “Uninvited to the function cus a 30yo mormon wife’s scared I will tell her husband the truth,” Marciano wrote via Instagram before the show’s premiere.
Bret appeared to clap back by sharing a photo of him and Demi, writing via his Instagram Story, “I’m so proud of this beautiful human. She’s the most incredible woman I will ever know. The amount of nonsense she’s had to endure at the hands of disingenuous and deceitful fools is astounding. She’s conducted herself like a graceful lioness amongst a bunch of yipping hyenas.”
Vanderpump Villa is currently streaming on Hulu.
